Overview - The Role
The Corporate Legal Operations Consortium (CLOC) is dedicated to making its members more efficient and valuable through professional development, collaboration, and community. Reporting to and partnering with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will be responsible for the organization's strategic leadership, growth, operations, and management of this global community organization. CLOC’s ED will manage a significant budget, a team of 16 and will focus on demonstrating the value of CLOC to its members, sponsors, and the industry. This is a remote opportunity that involves some domestic and international travel.

Responsibilities - What You Will Do
Executive Leadership and Organizational Management:
- Provide visionary leadership that supports and guides the organization's mission as defined by the Board.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring successful long-term operations.
- Foster a culture that encourages collaboration and recognizes positive contributions.
- Strategically navigate a growing field of other associations and corporations.
Board Governance:
- Engage with the Board of Directors on strategic matters and evolve the organization's strategic plan.
- Maintain regular communication with the Board and ensure board-approved policies are effectively implemented among the staff.
- Attend all Board meetings, providing regular updates and reports.
Development and Revenue:
- Drive membership and revenue to sustain the organization, create mission-aligned industry impact, and ensure financial stability and growth for the organization.
Financial Management and Administration:
- In partnership with staff, oversee financial operations, ensuring the organization remains within the approved budget.
- Provide strategic leadership in administrative and operational functions in alignment with the mission, objectives, and policies.
External Relations and Communications:
- Elevate the organization's profile within the legal industry.
- Represent the organization publicly at events, conferences, and partnership meetings, ensuring a positive public image.
- Oversee all aspects of the organization’s marketing, public relations, and communications.
Other Responsibilities:
- Engage legal ecosystem leaders to develop relationships and collect perspectives.
- Drive increased member participation, engagement, retention, and growth.
- Manage all legal aspects of the organization through and with outside counsel.
- Lead staff towards operational excellence and instill ownership, accountability, and a culture of trust and respect.

Qualifications - Who You Are
- Eight years or more of prior experience as an Executive Director, Legal Operations Lead, Chief of Staff, or In-House or Law Firm attorney
- Previous experience managing and mentoring a significant team
- Proven track record in leadership with P&L accountability.
- Deep knowledge of the legal industry and its operations, with a well-developed network of contacts
- Ability to be the point of contact on all legal matters for the organization.
- Experience working with and leading a board of directors.
- Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, public relations, and human resources.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Comfortable and skilled at interfacing with all levels of individuals- from members to sponsors to executives.
- Comfortable presenting to groups small and large (Board to 2500+).
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree required. JD or MBA is a plus.

Compensation Information
- Base Salary Range: USD $175,000 – $280,000 annually
- Bonus - based on individual and organizational performance
- 401K - 5% annual contribution
