Senior Patent Counsel - Silicon Valley

Our client, a high performance semiconductor company seeks a patent attorney to join its growing legal department. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in patent prosecution, patent portfolio management and strategy. Experience in the analogue and semiconductor industry is a plus. A technical background in Electrical Engineering and USPTO membership is required. Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus, but not required. The successful candidate will report directly to the General Counsel. In house attorneys as well as law firm associates and partners will be considered.

This position will provide the following responsibilities: mapping the company IP strategy, managing a high profile IP portfolio and patent prosecution matters worldwide and managing a team of patent engineers on a daily basis. An excellent existing infrastructure is in place to facilitate the execution of the IP role in the company. Also this presents a great opportunity to grow management skills managing a large technical staff both in the US and overseas.
